Website Redesign

THE BRIEF

Having been acquired by a new parent company, Bowers & Wilkins needed to migrate to their new platform, SiteCore.

The project outline was quite loose - and with no specific requrements to follow, it was down to us to audit the existing site, rethink and redesign the UX and UI, and generate a modular design concept that would give them flexibility to generate new content going forward.

The main issue we identified during the audit was the terminology used by B&W.

We advised the client that using words like ‘Formation’ (which refers to the specific technology used within certain speakers) was alienating customers who needed more industry standard language. The main product navigation in particular needed to be aligned with regular category names i.e. Wireless Speakers.

We also introduced Product Listing Pages, to allow customers a new way to browse, and to improve SEO.

In our discovery phase we conducted stakeholder interviews and drew out as much information as we could about what the site really needed to do, and who the target audience were.

We came up with 3 visual concepts for the new website:

Minimal - Bold titles - Engineered precision
The forms and the quality of the product speak for themselves

Editorial - Clean - White space - Image lead
Fluid Journey

Dark & Dramatic - Theatrical - Emotive
Zoomed in imagery (organic forms)

The US website is now live: www.bowerswilkins.com
I have a more comprehensive design deck for this project, available on request.
